So you guys may know that I am an anime fan, and recently the 2012 spring line up was released so I just wanted to share some of the shows I am looking forward to. A great picture of all the shows can be found here.

Medaka Box – So out of all the shows being released in spring this is the one I’m most excited about watching. Medaka Box is a manga released in 2009 about a high school student council who takes requests 24 hours a day 365 days a year. And is run by Medaka Kurokami, a girl who has been touted the strongest in all of the school and her best since childhood Zenkichi Hitoyoshi is her right hand man.
While the premise sounds boring it’s where the manga goes to which gets me excited to see it in an animated format. The manga turns very shonen very fast by revealing a lot of the students are Abnormals, or basically super humans that can do ludicrous things. From having the lung capacity to shoot sonic waves from their mouths to being able to bend others realities. Yeah that’s right I said it! BEND REALITY! I highly recommend following this one as it comes out. Or you know what… just go find the manga.

Eureka Seven Ao – I like to think of Eureka Seven as a mix between Jet Set Radio Future and Mecha. The show just has so much style that is it literally a joy to watch. To be cliché it’s a visual feast for the eyes.
This series is the sequel to the first Eureka Seven but this time revolves around a character named Ao who will also get his own awesome mecha. I don’t know much more than that on the series but considering that the first seasons is one of my favourite mecha series of all time I’m defiantly going to give this one a chance.
Hopefully they have an awesome soundtrack on this season as well since the first seasons musical score was fantastic.

Saki: Achiga-hen – Saki for me is more of a guilty pleasure than anything, it’s just full of “moe” girls and almost lesbian love relationships between the two main characters. But this season of Saki is more of a side story about a rival school of the first seasons team so it won’t have any of that (I don’t think).
But the main reason you come to Saki is for Mah-jong. They take the super power approach of action anime but apply their powers to mah-jong only. For example a girl who is able to get 4 pairs of whatever she wants, another girl is always able to win off of the very last tile drawn, or the club leader Hisa who can only play well by giving herself a handicap by having “bad waits”.
I don’t think you will get anything out of this unless you know how to play Japanese style mah-jong or just into overly moe girls. So this is more of a personal favourite than something I would recommend to anyone.

So those are the ones I am looking forward to. If you have any favourites you want to mention say them in the comments section below. Also just before I go they’re making an AKB48 anime! WTF!
