***UPDATE: There was an issue with the initial upload of the show. Please re-download for the fix. If that doesn't work, then unsubscribe and then resubscribe.

On this installment of Three Nerds in a Basement, Blaven decides to tell us about his childhood with the game Ristar. He also decides to visit the past with an old Gamecube game, Killer 7 and finishes up by introducing a new racing anime called Future GPX Cyber Formula. Anthony appears to have hopped back into fighting games in preparation for an actual competition, but that is short lived as his HDTV has exploded. So instead he gives us tales from his PS2 collection, including Persona 4. Vince rewinds the clock exactly one year backwards as the games he is currently playing all came out this time last year. For those who have no clue, he’ll be giving us his opinions on Splinter Cell: Conviction and Red Dead Redemption

This week the crew will have two topics on board as last week they did two reviews. So to start things off they first talk about their bedrooms and how they’ve designed them as a representation of themselves. Next up, the crew will be telling you about their dream jobs. Then there are a few letters they get into before closing out the show. So sit back, relax or go to the gym and have a run while this audio podcast fills your eardrums.

Sorry for the delay, but this week’s show proved to be rather difficult to produce even though it ended up being one of our shortest shows ever. Between accidentally deleting the RAW audio file once and doing some major splicing to cut out a lot of unnecessary content we were able to get the show up just one day late.

As for what to expect Anthony has finished Portal 2 and tries not to tells us about it, so instead he tells tales of his recent addiction with Zettai Hero Project: Unlosing Ranger VS. Darkdeath Evilman. Up next, Vince talks about his brief experience with the downloadable game Outland before delving deep into the world of Persona 4. Finally Blaven rounds out What We’re Up To with the classic cartoon Chip & Dale: Rescue Rangers.

For the second half of the show we review both the movie Thor and the anime Gurren Lagann. Long story short: go watch both of them. Especially Gurren Lagann. Actually just watch Gurren Lagann. Yes, it’s that good. We didn’t get any letters this week so remember to send in whatever you’d like to hear out opinions on, be it videogames, relationships, food, etc. – We love hearing from you guys! But that’s mostly it for this week’s show, hope you enjoy it!

Sometimes you just need to get away from all things digital, get with your friends and do something physical. In this case, a game of basketball. While none of us are any good, we did manage to have lots of fun.

Also, the original plan was to play rugby, but due to the weather and a lack of players we went with this instead.

This week’s podcast is coming in a little bit shorter due to lack of efficient planning. That said, there’s still plenty of show to be had. Anthony kicks things off with the “big one” – PORTAL 2. Then he tries to sell Vince on the anime Soul Eater. Vince gives us his impressions of Patapon 3 and gives some minor updates to the Gears of War 3 Beta. After that, Vince and Blaven talk about Super Robot Taisen Z & Z2. Lastly, Blaven rounds out the first segment with the anime Aquarion.

The second half of the show is centered around our preferred tastes for protagonists in any form of media. We hit the major topics like sex, personality, appearance and motives. Then we finish strong with letters and Anthony admits his love for Korean bands like Big Bang and solo artist Taeyang. Enjoy the show!

We saw the movie THOR this week and we urge you to see it as well. However, with such short notice (and us wanting to go spoiler heavy with it), we've decided that we'll save our opinions for episode 21 instead of talking about it on the upcoming episode 20. So make sure to go watch it if you don't want to be spoiled!

Also, we've finally made a facebook page! For most people this is probably the quickest and easiest way to get updates from us; such as videos, questions and the podcast itself. So make sure to hit the like button on facebook a leave a friendly msg!

A couple of episodes back the crew at TNIAB HQ talked about toys, figures and their respective collections. They also mentioned on the podcast that they would post pictures of said collections day and date with the show. Obviously that didn't happen. So to remedy that issue we have all finally gotten around to taking pictures and uploading them to our Flickr account for your viewing pleasure. Remember to click on the pictures to get a look at the entire set of photos!

This week’s show is packed to the brim with content. Blaven tells us about the manga’s Read or Die and Hikaru No Go before delving into a Patapon 3 worship trace with Anthony. Then Anthony tells us about his recent addiction to cave shooters like Espgaluda II and Deathsmiles II after which he gives first-hand experience at getting beaten at SFIV Arcade in an actual arcade. Vince was busy and was able to give reviews on the movies Hanna and Source Code. He also watched the follow-up to Gunbuster – Diebuster. However, it’s Gurren Lagann that completely takes over Vince as he has now become a worshiper of the anime. His last piece of addiction is the Gears of War 3 Beta and he also mentions one of his new toys – Revoltech Jehuty (Zone of the Enders).

For this week’s major review, the crew have gone out and watched the highly anticipated yet highly ridiculed “Fast Five.” Unfortunately, the crew’s opinions were so heated that there wasn’t any real structure to the segment and thus ended up being a random set of statements.

We had a hard time coming up with a meaningful topic to discuss this week and even when we did have something we all wanted to talk about, it never amounted to anything more than baseless accusations. Whether that’s worth listening to is up to you.

Finally, we answer some listener mail and share a story of what we do when we’re not recording the podcast. So sit back, press play and enjoy the show.
